In 2003, Takuo joined People Focus Consulting (PFC), and in 2012, he was appointed President and CEO.

Takuo has led numerous projects addressing core management challenges, including leadership development for executives and next-generation leaders, as well as organization-wide transformation initiatives centered on instilling corporate mission, vision, and values (MVV). He is involved from initial project design through to implementation support.

In recent years, Takuo has focused on promoting sustainability. As PFC became a certified B Corporation, he has actively represented the company in advancing the B Corp movement. His efforts span a wide range of activities, including supporting clients in developing sustainability-driven leaders, teaching a graduate course at Tama University titled “What Defines a Good Company in the Future,” and fostering global connections among B Corp companies. He is also engaged in research on how businesses can contribute to the sustainability of both society and the planet.

Takuo came to PFC with over 10 years of experience as a management consultant, notably as a senior consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton and in a similar capacity for the Tokyo office of the Gemini Consulting Group, where he specialized in training Japanese managers of major foreign-affiliated firms. His experience covers a diverse array of industries including chemicals, electronics, pharmaceuticals, construction, power generation, food, communications, computers and apparel.

He is a graduate of Yokohama National University with a BA in economics.
