Client Success Stories
Integrating Corporate Culture After a Merger
Following a merger of two companies, our client wanted to transform its corporate culture and the behaviors of its entire Japan workforce of more than 10,000 employees in order to achieve the strategic business goals of the newly merged company.
PFC partnered with the client’s culture transformation leadership team to develop a strategy and plan for the project. From building awareness of the desired culture through to measuring and reviewing the results, PFC designed and facilitated workshops and other interventions over a three-year period to help employees internalize and align their behaviors with the new corporate culture.
Employees of both the US and Japanese entities together developed a new corporate culture which accommodated both Western and Japanese values into a new hybrid company culture that all members could identify with. The hybrid cultural also helped people overcome an “us-versus-them” mentality. This shift to an inclusive “us” mindset was an enabling factor for improved collaboration across the company.
